Colin Currie Signature Mallet Series

The Colin Currie Signature Mallet Series was created as a simple and straightforward mallet line, representing a focused, polished approach to sound. This is a light weight series with flexibility in feel and touch to give access to the entire dynamic range of the keyboard.

Colin's versatile mallets encourage spontaneity, as each can be used with great force or delicacy without any unsatisfactory change in timbre.

This series contains four mallets, featuring one unwrapped mallet and three wrapped mallets, all available in both birch and rattan handles.

A NOTE FROM COLIN

As a player who uses a Burton-style grip, I have also come to use the inner mallets for my single line playing when holding four sticks. I enjoy the feel and flexibility of rattan for two mallet/single line work, but have a preference for the rigidity of birch mallets in the outer mallets.

So, I regularly have rattan in the centre, and birch in the outer positions of my four mallet grip. This is certainly how I will be using my new Marimba One Signature Mallets, and I recommend players experiment in a similar vein where appropriate. CURRIE MALLET KEY CHART
